Study on an Onset Mechanism of MDRPU by Wearing Elastic Stockings: Numerical Simulation by Two-Dimensional Mechanical Model

As compared with pressure injuries, the mechanism development of medical device related ulcers (MDRPU) is not revealed enough. According to studies on severity and frequent site occurrence, MDRPUs are surmised occur surface skin. In this study, we assess theoretical experimental analysis by two-dimensional mechanical model for elastic stockings (ES) wear lower limbs or without dug into skin wrinkles curling up ES. The Finite Element Method (FEM) was used calculate stress subcutaneous tissue, because elucidating MDRPU. FEM a triple-layered cylindrical simulating skin, bone. Regarding interface (compression pressure), two samples were created: one applying uniform 5.3 kPa correct wearing ES, other 16 part which ES in. results as follows: internal tissue maximum at where in, producing stresses 54 kPa, 50 21 in circumferential, longitudinal, radial directions, respectively. produced an 5–9 surface. Unlike injury formation, considered compressive strength from tensile circumferential longitudinal furthermore additive digging due factor cause strong external force MDRPU formation.
